ZCASH IRONWOOD ALERT! Today we will be releasing a wallet app update update which will make Unstoppable Wallet compatible with today's planned Zcash upgrade (referred to as IRONWOOD) Note that, right after Zcash network update the app will continue working and you will be able to use your Zcash wallet and ZEC on balance without any disruption. Here are some thing to keep in mimd: 1) MIGRATION In this version the wallet WILL NOT provide you an option to migrate the entire balance from old shielded pool to a new one. We fill there is NO IMMEDIATE NEED or risk to migrate your balance and therefore will provide such option in the future update due in a few days. 2) TRANSACTIONS Meanwhile, any shielded transaction you make after the IRONWOOD activation will work according to new rules . The very first shielded transaction you make (to someone's or your own shielded address) will basically be migrating your old shielded balance from an old pool to a new one. Later shielded transactions will try to use your shielded funds from a new pool if sufficient and if not will be utilizing (migrating) funds from an old pool. So, you can basically complete the migration by sending the entire balance to self. 3) PRIVACY CONSIDERATIONS Note that each migration transaction exposes the amounts being sent in that specific transaction and may potentially enable a bad actor to link that transaction to some IP address. The node receiving that transaction on the network will see the IP address from where it was sent The easiest option to mitigate this is to enable TOR (Unstoppable wallet on Android has this option) or use a VPN like @nym. 4) NO RUSH To sum up, do not rush to migrate, give the ironwood activate some time to settle, make a couple of self transfers first. Just keep using ZEC normally.
