NU7 is more than a faster-block update for ZEC. Zebra 7.0.0 is ready, with mainnet activation planned for around Nov. 5. Block spacing is moving from 75 seconds to 25, while rewards adjust to keep daily issuance on its existing path and the 21 million cap stays unchanged. The part I find more consequential is the Network Sustainability Mechanism: 60% of transaction fees go into a reserve, and a defined share is scheduled to return through future block rewards. I read that as a change in how fees can support network security over time. How much weight it carries economically will depend on fee activity after activation. For the trade, I’ll watch how ZEC holds its range after the upgrade and whether activity follows through. I keep the first position modest for my perps. I also set invalidation before choosing leverage and add only if price confirms the move.
